WESTBURY HOMEMAKERS CLUB
The Westbury Extension Homemaker's Club was organized March 9, 1967, with 20 members whose prime objective was self enrichment through educational programs, materials and contributions to worthy causes. This was the original narrative laying out the purpose of our club. As we enjoy the friendship and camaraderie of our club members today, we strive to accomplish goals laid out 48 years ago by our charter members.
Some of our projects include: Monthly food bags for the homeless, delivering Meals on Wheels and items for Huntsville Assistance Program (HAP) and Manna House. We donate money to provide Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners to those in need such as Rescue Mission and others. We collect items for nursing homes, contribute children's books to local hospitals, participate in providing canned goods to community pantries.
Monthly, we collect pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House, Pennies for Friendship and enjoy informative programs from the State and County's Program of Work. We also enjoy getting together with our friends from other county clubs for the yearly events.
