The goal of the Madison County Homemakers and Community Leaders (MCHCL) is to increase membership and to retain the members current members.  We are encouraging the use of high quality programs provided by the Alabama Homemakers and Community Leaders (AHCL) and educational methods to meet the needs of today’s audiences.  This is an on-going challenge to individuals and county clubs.

The MCHCL supports its membership in it’s effort to strengthen individuals and families through continuing education, leadership development and community service.  It provides County, Club and individual awards in recognition of outstanding programs and projects, and for the expenses of running the MCHCL organization.

MCHCL membership is open to everyone without regard to age, race, color, sex, handicap, economic circumstances, creed, national origin or ethnic background.  A membership card is issued by the AHCL to each member up receipt of State dues.

Club treasurers collect MCHCL and AHCL dues from the clubs in Madison County and forward them to the County Treasurer along with the membership forms containing names, complete mailing addresses, email address and other requested information by November 1st yearly.  Dues are accepted from anyone joining during the year.  In order to participate in Cultural Arts, members must also be a member of the AHCL.

Benefits of MCHCL Membership

  1. Gives each member voting privileges at all AHCL Meetings and voting privilieges at MCHCL meetings if the member is the representative of her/his club in the absence of the club president.
  2. Includes a subscription to the NEWSLETTER, the official publication of the MCHCL.
  3. Allows each member to contribute to Pennies for Friendship, which funds the Country Woman’s County (CWC) and Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW) project “Water for All.”  The County Treasurer forwards these donations, and any other donations which are made, to the AHCL.
